Snowboard Slopestyle makes its debut at the Innsbruck Rookie Fest
Registrations are officially open for the Innsbruck Rookie Fest, returning from February 20th to 22nd, 2026, at the iconic Nordkette Skyline Park, high above the city of Innsbruck. Now in its 8th edition, the event marks an important step in the evolution of the World Rookie Tour, introducing a major new element to its program.
For the first time in the history of the Innsbruck Rookie Fest, Snowboard Slopestyle officially joins Freeski, transforming the event into a true dual-discipline platform for youth freestyle progression. After years as a key freeski stop, Innsbruck opens its start gate to snowboarders, offering them the chance to compete on one of the most spectacular slopestyle venues in the Alps.
Riders will drop into a slopestyle course overlooking the Innsbruck skyline, set high above the city in a unique alpine environment. The Nordkette Skyline Park offers a spectacular contest stage where progressive features and natural exposure come together, creating an unforgettable setting for freestyle competition.
A gateway to the World Rookie Finals
The Innsbruck Rookie Fest 2026 plays a crucial role within the World Rookie Tour calendar. Qualification tickets for the World Rookie Finals will be awarded in both Freeski and Snowboard, making Innsbruck a decisive stop for riders aiming to continue their journey on the global rookie stage. Austrian athletes will also compete for their National Junior Champion titles in Slopestyle, adding further competitive relevance to the event.
Open to Rookies (born 2008–2010) and Groms (born 2011 and younger), men and women, the competition will be held under FIS NYC rules, with WSF/FIS certified judges ensuring professional and consistent evaluation.
Beyond competition, the Innsbruck Rookie Fest delivers the full World Rookie Tour experience, with registration sessions, open training days, official competitions and signature media moments such as the iconic Top of the Roof Shooting, creating three intense days of riding and progression.
