Record breakers, trophy collectors and newcomers the anniversary year at STIHL TIMBERSPORTS®

The STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® season 2025 ended with a new world champion, a record winner and several newcomers who quickly became crowd favourites and put the favourites under noticeable pressure. The international titles in competitive woodcutting went to athletes from New Zealand, Australia and Poland.

For the first time, the World Championship made a stop in Italy: the grand season finale took place in Milan in October. In its 40th year, Italian fans celebrated the participating nations in the sold-out Allianz Cloud Arena, filling the stands with ‘il tricolore’. ‘It was tremendous fun to hold the season finale in our anniversary year in front of such a large, enthusiastic and loud audience,’ said Raimondo Napoleone, project manager of STIHL TIMBERSPORTS®. In terms of sport, Jack Jordan took centre stage in the individual competition. The New Zealander has been working towards the world championship title since 2017 and, after finishing second last year in Milan, was crowned world champion for the first time. In the showdown on the hot saw, he prevailed against Brayden Meyer from Australia. This completed his collection of titles: in addition to his World Championship success, he is a four-time New Zealand champion and record holder of the World Trophy, which took a break in 2025 and will return to the competition calendar in 2026. In the team competition, it was once again Australia's moment to shine. The team from Down Under won the world championship title for the sixth time in a row and for the tenth time overall. Once again, it became clear that regardless of the line-up, Australia is currently unbeatable. Their opponents in the final, Sweden, celebrated their most successful World Championship appearance ever with a silver medal and a new national record.
