World Rookie Fest 2023

Il Black Yeti è stato orgoglioso di ospitare a Livigno 90 giovani freeskier provenienti da 16 diverse Nazioni, per la seconda edizione del World Rookie Fest! La settimana era iniziata con la serata di presentazione presso il Cinelux mercoledì 18 gennaio, con tutti i rider e i coach impegnati a guardare il nuovo World Rookie TV Show (state connessi a proposito, a breve sarà pubblicato sui nostri canali!).

In questa edizione non siamo stati molto fortunati con il meteo, tanto che le cattive condizioni di giovedì hanno fatto cancellare le qualifiche programmate. Fortunatamente, la sera tutti i rider hanno avuto la possibilità di divertirsi durante la Night Rail Session presso lo Snowpark20. Jeremy Boiston (FRA) si è portato a casa il Best Trick mentre Melvin Seliberg (SWE) è stato il Best Riders della serata.

Il giorno seguente tutti i freeskier hanno avuto la possibilità di competere insieme, giudicati attraverso un double up panel. Il leggendario Mottolino Snowpark ha messo in campo anche in questa 18ª edizione del World Rookie Fest un tracciato di gara perfetto, con due diverse linee: L/XL con una sezione di rail, due kicker, un cannon rail e la linea M con tre kicker e un’altra sezione rail.

William Bostadloekken (SWE) si è portato a casa la vittoria nella categoria Rookie con la seguente run: Left 270 – 270 out, Switch right double 12 safety, Left triple 14 safety, right foot front 6. Chiudono il podio Bendik Horgen Rasmussen (NOR) e Jeremy Boiston (FRA).

Nella categoria Grom, Melvin Seliberg (SWE) chiude Left 270 on frontswap backside 270 out, Right Cork 720 safety, Left Double Cork 1080 safety, Right foot Backside 810 shifty, e si prende il gradino più alto del podio davanti a Liam Richards (NZL) e Giovanni Marco Miotto (ITA)

Nella categoria Rookie femminile Berenice Dode (FRA) vince con un Frontside 270 out, Switch Right 540 Mute, Left 720 mute, backside 270 out. Seconda posizione per Flora Tabanelli (ITA), terza Kim Dumont Zanella (FRA).

Nella categoria Grom Women Zoe Van Essen (SUI) chiude Frontside 270 out, Switch left 540 safety, left 720 safety, ski slide e vince davanti a Ingvild Almaas Hagland (NOR) e a Ieva Vesna (UKR).

Tutti i rider dei podi, rookie, grom, maschi e femmine, si sono qualificati per le World Rookie Finals 2023 che si terranno a Madonna di Campiglio dal 26 al 30 March 2023. Solo per essere certi che non ci siano fraintendimenti, le World Rookie Finals a Campiglio sono confermate al 100%!

ABOUT THE WORLD ROOKIE TOUR
The World Rookie Tour is organized by the Black Yeti ssrl in collaboration with World Snowboard Federation, National Snowboard, Ski and Skateboard Associations, and selected action sports agencies. It was born in 2005 as a series of youth snowboard events and it consists now of a selection of high-quality International events for snowboard, Freeski, Skateboard and Surf, the so-called "Rookie Fests", reserved for riders under 18's only, in Europe, North and South America, Oceania and Asia. The World Rookie Tour consists not only of competitions: it also features loads of other activities to help rookies to grow in the field of professional action sports, such as photo & video shootings, avalanche, and rescue clinics, meetings with photographers, and international team managers, parties and English talks. Since year zero, it awards tickets to world-class events such as X Games Norway, Audi Nines, The Arctic Challenge, The Air & Style, The World Snowboarding Championships, Red Bull Roller Coaster, Simple Session, Mystic Sk8 Cup, invitations to professional photo & video shootings, and shooting trip all around the world. Every year the tour crowns the World Rookie Champions at the end of the season, during the World Rookie Finals, a unique event format where the best youngsters from almost 30 countries compete and have fun. The Black Yeti is an amateur sports club dedicated to the realization of Snowboard, Freeski, Skateboard and Surf projects for boys and girls up to 18 years of age, at international level. One of the most successful projects is the World Rookie Tour, the biggest and the most famous tour in the action sports world that attracts 3.000 young athletes from 30 nations to the events called "Rookie Fest", organized all over the world: Italy, Europe, North and South America, Oceania and Asia.
